Welcome to American Leadership Class leadership online class program.
Our online courses are led by expert instructors, are affordable, fun, fast, convenient, and tailored to meet your needs and growth in leadership.
The goal of the American Leadership Class (ALC), in collaboration with instructors from Utah Valley University in Utah and California State University (CSU), Northridge (Outdoor Adventures), is to help impart the skills and knowledge required to effectively lead, govern, and enhance leadership in both the personal and professional spheres.
Registration for the Leadership classes is open to all.
BFL: Basic Foundational Leadership 36 Units
This course is intended to introduce students to theory related to leadership. Good leaders understand the power of motivation, the benefits and challenges of groups and how to create a context in which others will thrive and perform at their best. All concepts are taught through interactive discussion; research and assignments, relating to real life experiences for students to understand the concepts and apply them to their daily life and in their domains of leadership. The course should convey an understanding of various concepts of leadership and it covers the following:

BCOM: Business Communication 18 Units
This course refines students’ skills in business writing, public speaking, and interpersonal communication. Through analyses and practice of communication strategies adopted by successful business professionals, students learn to write clearly and concisely, deliver compelling presentations, and construct effective arguments.

DL: Digital Literacy 3 Units
This course focuses on digital communication in the context of leadership, teaching students the essential computer concepts, internet usage, and applications, enhancing their technical and cognitive abilities for efficient communication with public groups. It’s focusing is on information use, evaluation, and dissemination, enhancing technical and cognitive abilities for efficient communication with public groups.

FIN: Financial Literacy 6 Units
This course aims to equip student leaders with a strong financial literacy foundation, enabling them to make informed decisions and manage their financial future. All facets of leadership should be ingrained in leaders. It’s critical to have financial literacy for both your personal and leadership lives. According to ALC, all facets of leadership begin with you as the leader, within your own house. From there, you can expand them to your workplaces or other leadership domains, across the country, and eventually over the world.

GSJ: Good Governance & Social Justice 3 Units
The purpose of this course is to enlighten and provoke thought on ethical and social responsibility concerns that arise in area of governance. The course material is designed to assist students understand the norms of professionalism and integrity as well as to help them recognize and handle ethical and social responsibility concerns as they arise.

OB: Organizational Behavior 3 Units
This course on leadership and organizational behavior uses analytical frameworks and real-world experiences to enhance students’ understanding of human behavior, focusing on individual, group, and organizational dynamics, stress, rewarding behavior, motivation, power dynamics, and organizational development. It also exposes and provides a global exposure and emphasizes interconnectedness and prepares students for a diverse world, focusing on understanding global dynamics and fostering an engaged citizen perspective.

PD: Personal Development 6 Units
This Personal Development course teaches students about goal-setting, self-improvement, and personal growth, enhancing self-awareness, professional decision-making, and addressing issues like body language, morals, communication, etiquette, and personality transformation.

PROJ-101A: Culture, Diversity and Leadership 4 Units
This is the practical application of the Fundamental Foundational Leadership course, which is mandatory for students to pass and obtain a certificate. The course covers engaging topics and issues that impact societies, communities, and the global community at large. Students in this course must develop policies and procedures that promote and support inclusivity, awareness, tolerance, and accommodation. It’s a group research paper with presentation which enhances the student’s communication and teamwork skills. The evaluation score is determined by the students’ engagement and participation in the project work.
PROJ-101B: Presentation: Varying Topics 4 Units
This is a group presentation project in which students are given to enhance their public speaking and communications. Students are able to build self-confidence and engage in thought provoking topics will applying the leaderships skills
